Beating the Odds on Sunrise

This morning was one of those days that beat the predictions. With just a 30% chance of a good sunrise, it didn’t look like the right day to get up. But there is one simple fact that got me up. It was clear yesterday and clouds were moving into the area today. That also meant I needed to make sure I was out early in case the sky went off before sunrise.

Man did it pay off!

The light came and went within about 20 minutes but put on a show while it was there. By the time the sun broke the horizon, the color in the sky was gone. Check out the other images below to see the progression throughout the morning.

Come back later this week for a post about how I predict sunrise.
